A group of AI researchers, including Elon Musk, have signed an open letter calling for a pause on the development of large-scale AI systems. The  letter, published by the Future of Life Institute , notes that labs around the world are locked in an "out-of-control race" to develop machine learning systems that even their creators cannot understand or reliably control.
